what's so good about naturally grown?

mission

the Mission let science do science and let nature do food

The most efficient way to do something is to get everyone to do a little bit, especially when it comes to the really big jobs that take a really long time to accomplish. Things like restoring topsoil on the land, diversifying plant species naturally, cleaning up our rivers and beaches, regrowing natural forests, countering desertification - these tasks seem so huge, and who will respond to them?

On the other hand, farmers that work with naturally grown principles, practice and administer all of these tasks every day, on the land that they farm, and most likely the surrounding areas too. For this they understand that it takes an entire environment to grow a crop, and not just some dirt and water. We want to promote these types of farmers.

If we could just somehow see what naturally grown food is available in our area, and get these producers connected, we might be able to boost small farm production and encourage the formation of good food markets in our area.

Kandu then arrives as a directory and communication portal, to gather each other together, in direct support of local, naturally grown and it's plentiful health and ecological benefits. We hope that you will also find a way to contribute and that you'll find this platform useful for some important tasks:

  • promoting farmers that are growing naturally, without chemicals or genetic tampering
  • promoting enterprises that support these farmers, from delivery agents, to people who use naturally grown crops in their products
  • to help to provide a fast track toward SAOSO certification, and the creation of local PGS groups that will help maintain production standards per area
  • to encourage farmers to support each other with experience, methodology and even onsite help if needs be
  • building the networks that will gather these producers, customers and delivery agents together to form a stronger, more resilient and more efficient community
  • try to form groups of local producers and local customers to nurture local food markets and reduce food miles
  • promote legitimate special offers from producers, suppliers or even sponsors
  • promote contract cropping - ask some contributors if they can grow the food you were thinking of importing
  • create opportunities for small businesses to grow, produce, process, or deliver local food locally
  • rebuild the Earth's topsoil.
  • replenish original forest.
  • restore water quality to rivers and all bodies of water.
  • and much, much more

We can do all of this if we want to! As our farmers are committed to naturally grown, we too are committed to growing this platform as we go, to better serve the supply chain in support of this mission. Let's talk about it at the kandu connect.

Create a space for your area, invite qualifying producers (naturally grown) and suggest a local, naturally grown food market to build your relationships and form a unified front for that area.

Forming a naturally grown market out of local producers will allow producers and customers to meet up halfway, reduce food miles, and share their local organic customer base, because these customers need better access to a greater variety, in order to make the convincing switch to local, naturally grown preference, and with more demand of naturally grown, comes more opportunity to supply. If the community of producers and customers can work together on this, we can make a significant advance in food quality, and in community overall.

Please by any means, get involved, find ways to support and promote a more local, more organic future.

Thank you!
